I’m just stunned by the talent that has come together for this simple editorial shoot. I’ve been focusing on honing my film skills (you know, that stuff you have to develop to see the pictures?), and so I’ve been practicing as much as I can. As such, I’ve done several styled shoots to get really comfortable with it. I’ll admit though, it’s definitely been a challenge to not be able to look at the back of my camera and have that instant gratification of seeing what the shot looks like. But also it has forced me to really think about each shot before I take it. It’s nice to slow down and really think through each photo (especially because each photo costs $2). And I’m feeling so much more comfortable with it. So why film? The look film creates is nearly impossible to replicate with digital. The colors are stunning and utterly timeless.
When I reached out to Catherine from Layers of Lovely for this shoot, I only had a bit of a vision. And she just created a masterpiece with my feeble direction. She really is a true artist. And this dress. Oh my word, the lace sleeves are just swoon-worthy. And even paired with a simple desert background, the gorgeous couple, the stunning Elizabeth Cooper Designs wedding gown, and florals just really made everything look incredible!
